Thistle Ridge Waipara Pinot Noir 2013

Taste & Other Notes

Named Champion Red Wine at the New World Wine Awards this is a very approachable yet complex wine. The colour is translucent black cherry while charred oak, floral violets and savoury fruit aromas are subtle. However there is nothing subtle about the flavours, with bright cherry fruit flavours upfront the savoury toasted oak and gentle spice characters follow quickly. Silky tannins and some nice juicy acidity add to the deep flavour profiles. Fantastic value for money.
